Return & Refund Policy

At Chef Asif (Jackos Management, Inc.), we take immense pride in the quality and craftsmanship of our culinary offerings. Because our products are handcrafted, highly customized, and perishable, we enforce a strict policy regarding returns, cancellations, and refunds to protect the integrity of our ingredients and our calendar.

1. Perishable Goods (Weekly Delivery & Pantry)

Due to the perishable nature of our chef-prepared meals and pantry products ordered through our weekly drops, we cannot accept returns. All sales of these items are final.

However, your satisfaction is our priority. If there is an issue with your order (e.g., a missing item or a quality concern), please contact us at asif@chefasifny.com within 24 hours of delivery with your order number and a photograph of the issue so we can provide a timely resolution.

2. Weddings & Large-Scale Event Catering

Because these events are booked months or years in advance and require massive logistical planning, all payment schedules and due dates are strictly dictated by your signed contract. A non-refundable Save-the-Date Retainer is required to secure our calendar.

  • Rescheduling: If you need to postpone your event, we will transfer your retainer to a new date provided the new date falls within 60 days of the original date, subject exclusively to Chef Asif’s availability.
  • Cancellations 90+ Days (3 Months) Out: All payments made up to the date of cancellation are strictly non-refundable, but you will be released from the contract with no further payments expected.
  • Cancellations 31 to 89 Days Out: All retainers and scheduled payments made to date are non-refundable. Additionally, if your contracted payments to date do not equal at least 50% of the total estimated event cost, you will be billed for the difference.
  • Cancellations 30 Days (1 Month) or Less: The full remaining balance of the contract is due immediately. If it has not yet been paid, you will be invoiced for the final amount.

3. Private Chef Experiences & Grazing Tables

Booking Chef Asif for private dining or a grazing table means we turn away other clients to secure your specific date. A non-refundable Save-the-Date Retainer is required at booking.

  • Cancellations 30+ Days Out: Your retainer is non-refundable, but you are released from any further payment obligations.
  • Cancellations 15 to 29 Days Out: Your retainer is non-refundable, and 50% of your total remaining balance becomes due immediately.
  • Cancellations 14 Days or Less: 100% of the final balance is due. By this window, specialty ingredients are actively being sourced, staff is scheduled, and prep has begun.

4. Hand-Crafted Charcuterie Boards

For charcuterie boards ordered more than 14 days in advance, a non-refundable deposit is required at booking, with the final balance due 7 days prior to delivery/pickup. For boards ordered within 14 days of the event, the full amount is due at the time of booking.

  • Cancellations 7+ Days Out: Any deposits paid are non-refundable. If you paid in full upfront, you will receive a refund minus the standard deposit amount.
  • Cancellations Within 7 Days: 100% of the payment is non-refundable, as artisan cheeses and cured meats have already been procured specifically for your board.

5. Custom Weekly Meal Prep

Our custom meal prep service provides highly personalized, high-touch consulting and cooking based on your unique dietary requirements.

  • Initial Engagement: All new custom meal prep clients require a minimum 4-week initial commitment. The payment for this initial 4-week block is due upfront and is strictly non-refundable, as it covers extensive dietary consulting, personalized recipe development, and logistical planning.
  • Ongoing Service: After the initial 4 weeks, clients transition to a weekly payment schedule with custom menus provided several days in advance.
  • Pausing or Canceling Ongoing Service: Any requests to pause service for a week or cancel the ongoing arrangement must be made at least 5 days prior to your next scheduled delivery. Failure to provide 5 days’ notice will result in a charge for that week’s service.

6. Gift Cards

Gift cards purchased through our store are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash, except where required by law. Gift cards do not expire and can be applied toward meal delivery or private dining experiences.

7. Force Majeure

In the rare event that Chef Asif must cancel an engagement due to extreme unforeseen circumstances (such as severe illness, emergency, or acts of God), you will receive a full 100% refund of all payments made to date, including retainers.

8. Refund Processing

If a refund or partial refund is approved based on the terms above, it will be processed automatically to your original payment method. Please allow 5–10 business days for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
